                   John Higley is noted as the first progenitor in the Higley line to live in America.

John Higley married twice.  He and first wife Hannah Drake married 9 Nov. 1671 and had ten children, she died in 1694 and he remarried in 1696 to Sarah Strong Bissell.  It was a second marriage for her also she had married Joseph Bissell 7 July,1686.  John and Sarah had seven children and some one had them sealed to Sarah Strong Bissell and her first husband Joseph Bissell.  The note on the family group record says:  These children were sealed to Joseph Bissell first husband and to their mother Sarah Strong Date 24 June 1947 S.L.  Sarah sealed to first husband 24 June 1947 S.L.   Approved Joseph Fielding Smith, Pres.

John Higley - Sarah Strong

John Higley was born at Frimley, Sussex, England 22 Jul 1649. His parents were Jonathan Higley and Katherine Brewster.

He married Sarah Strong Abt 1696 at of Simsbury, Hartford, Connecticut . Sarah Strong was born at Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut 14 Mar 1666 daughter of Return Strong and Sarah Wareham .
