Notes:
"Columbus Jefferson Hutton as a boy of 13 years ran off and joined the union army, during the civil war. He served in Company D, 15th Missouri Calvary from 1861 to 1865." (Family record)

"Columbus Jefferson Hutton married 2nd, Sara Ida Hutton, Sedan Kansas. October 11, 1913. She is the former Sara Ida Richards Hutton, who was married to his [Columbus Jefferson Hutton's]son, William Franklin Hutton."(Ibid.) This is a little unclear but it seems when Columbus Jefferson's wife, Mary Palmyra Kimzey Hutton, died, then he married his widowed daughter-in-law, Sara Ida, the widow of his deceased son, William Franklin.

Notes:
I remember going with Grandma Dean(Daddy's mother) to visit Grandma's brother. His name was John Hutton. We were in either North Hollywood or Riverside visiting with Lawrence and Linnie. Lawrence lived in North Hollywood before moving to Riverside and buying the little house on Cover St. I often went south with Grandma Dean when she went to visit. I wanted to go with her the last time but for some reason she said no. It was on the way to the bus station to return back to Porterville that Lawrence's car was hit. Linnie, Joyce and Lawrence sustained injuries. Grandma made it to the hospital but we got the call and all of us headed for Riverside. I remember seeing her in the hospital bed and hugging her. She was saying her good byes but I didn't realize that. I was in either 2nd or 3rd grade. I loved that woman and I am so glad I got to know her. We had some great times together. So all the good times you have with your grandkids, they will remember later with much love. Anyone crying yet? Sorry about that. I was just lucky to get to know both of our grandmas.
