   OCCUPATION: Cartwright and farmer. He lived in Shetland for the birth of his children then moved back to South Cara. His Wife was from Shetland.
    Samuel Ross's brother, Alexander, offered him South Cara,the farm and Samuel accepted and Alexander went back to Shetland and worked as a cooper. Alexander only farmed South Cara about three years and didn't like it.
Death of Samuel: Drowned at sea along with his cousin James Taylor Cromarty
