                   1. Will of Ellis Rodgers of Bedford Co., Penn. proved 18 Apr 1811.
2, Hist. of Bedford Co., Penn, p. 289 states"As early as 1782, Ellis Rodgers
from Eastern Penn. located in this township and built a house which is still
standing near the present school building in Pleasantville borough.  The
children of Ellis Rogers Sr. were Lewis, Eli, Abner and Ellis, Esther, Rachel,
Elizabeth and Mary.  Ellis lived on the old homestead.  John and Lewis went to
Ohio, but the other members of the family lived and died in this vicinity".
3. In his will, Ellis mentions my three eldest sons:" Eli, Lewis & John."'
