Jonathan Baroth or BARRETT

                   1. Mrs. Frances Kinneman (Indiana Pioneers Assoc.) writes:
     "Jonathan Barrett lived in Alexander Co., N.C. on a mountain which still
bears his name. Jonathan had two daughters, one named Bathsheba, she didn't
know the other one's name.  Jonathan was born in Virginia, married there and
had two daughters.  After the death of his wife he came to N.C. and married
again and had other children.  She had no record of them.  A Samuel Oxford
lived at the bottom of Barrett's Mountain, on Catawba River.  On old map it
is called Oxford Ford and the lake is Oxford Lake.  Samuel married Bathsheba
Barrett, and their first child was born in 1766.
