Samuel o STRONG

                   Isaac's father Thomas Canham joind the L.D.S. Church in England, and came with his wife and son Robert to Utah in 1875 and settled in Deseret Utah.  Two years later Isaac came to Utah.  As soon as the train stopped in Salt Lake City, a young man came into the car and called aloud for Isaac Canham.  What a welcome from Daniel Hunter, and it was the beginning of a life long friendship.  Isaac went to the home of his father in Deseret Utah.  Sometime later Martha Jane Alldredge was visiting there at the home of her Uncle William B Alldredge.  The two met, romance followed and they were married by John Brown in Pleasant Grove Utah. They made a farm house in Hinckley Utah.  After the death of thier little daughter they sold thier farm for forty dollars and on 11 Nov. 1895 they moved to Lindon Utah.  They later lived in Salt Lake City where Isaac was a successful resaurant operator for many years.  Martha was a fine seamstress, a good cook and a capable homemaker.  She inherited that fine sense of humor and witty sayings, and where ever she was, her conversation was sparkling, humorous, and full of practical philosophy.  Ike and Matt, as they were affectionately called, moved back to Lindon Utah, where they made an attractive, comfortable home surrounded by unusual and beautiful flowers, a product of Ike's interesting hobby.
