Obit. Jennie Connett, dau. of John F. and Margaret Ann connett was born April 1,1865 near vandalia in Jasper Co. Iowa and departed this life,  Monday, April 5,1943 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Bergmann, at the age of 78 years and 4 days.
At an early age she united with the Baptist church, later changing her membership to the Brethern Church at Rose Creek near Munden, Kans. she live a good christian life.
On july 4, 1881 she was united in marriage to Joeph Macoy (McCoy) west. In 1886 they pioneered to Norton county Kansas where they took up their homestead. They lived there for 19 years when they moved with their family to Richarson county Nebraska, later moving to the vicinity of Wymore locating at Blue Springs, their present home.
Owing to ill health she and her husband moved to the home of their daughters, Mrs. Fred Bergman where they remained until they passed away.
Mrs. West suffered a stroke on the 9th of Febuary and after eight weekd of suffering which she bore with patience and cheerfulness even when the pain seemed too great to bear she passed away.
Five children Mrs. Mina ready of Marysville, Kans., Mrs. Bertha Bergan of Odell, Mrs. Oscar West of Blue Strings, Mrs. Manila Bergman of Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Wesley West of Sacramento, Calif., survive her. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Oma Tyler of Hartford, Iowa, 25 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchidren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 8, short services being held at the Bergman home at 1:30 and from the Evangelic church in Blue springs with Rev. Crammer in charge. Burial was made in the Blue Springs cemetery.
She was a good mother, ready to help others.
