Iver was a tenant farmer and took the name Stuberg for his last name.  He was about 24 when he married and his wife around 32.  His wife died 24 April 1863.  At some point, Iver joined his son, Peter in Brandon, Minnesota.  

1880 Census, Iver lived with his son Peter and family in Brandon, Minnesota.
1885 Census, Iver lived with Peter's son, Ole.  He was 82.
The Alexandria Post, Jan 5, 1894 edition states: "Peter Stuberg's father died Wednesday of last week at the ripe age of 90 years.  He was buried last Tuesday."

He died of ""old age at age 91 and is buried at the Chippewa Cemetery, Brandon, Minnesota, USA.
