                   He was a lather by trade.  Wife died early leaving him to raise thechildren.
He used to make candy and offered it to us when we were kids.  Our favorite was
a peppermint kind.  He also had a kind that was bitter and tasted awful to us.
Unfortunately, he always had a lot of that kind on hand.  He was very
industrious, had a large garden, always was puttering around or keeping himself
busy.
