Notes:
Ernestine was an only child. Ernestine had a traumatic childhood: She moved with her parents to Burma where Ernest taught. While in Burma, her mother died of whooping cough. Ernest and Ernestine returned immediately to the U.S. Upon their return, Ernestine lived with an Aunt and Uncle where she was very unhappy. Within a year, she moved to live with her grandparents, where she was very happy. Ernestine was christened E. Lillian, used E. Rosalind also until 1970. Ernestine and Platt eloped then remarried later in New York - their parents were mad when they found out, and made them remarry so they could attend. Knick always joked that he got to marry the same girl twice. An longer biography is in the possession of Brian Palmer.
