Notes:
Mary was born in the Mooney Creek community, at the Rogers log cabin built in 1959. After marriage the Henry's lived at Nortonville. In the fall of 1929, she and Ralph went to Ft. Collins, Colorado believing the climate would help his health, but it did not. Mary was left a young widow about age 23. Ralph died of T.B. He is buried at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. In 1942 she and her son moved to Atchison. In 1946, sixteen years after Ralph died, Mary married a Mr. Thompson. He drank so much, she divorced him about 10 months later. She said his next wife didn't stay that long. She asked for the Henry name back. She had very bad eyesight and wore very thick glasses. Mary loved flowers. She worked as a private nurse, and was employed at the Burbank Clothing Store. She and her son operated a second hand store in Atchison. For 17 years, they owned and operated the Cash Grocery Store at Sugar Lake. Mary was a member of Atchison First Christian Church. She had saved pictures and letters that had belonged to Mary and William Heineken. They were a great help in finding the location of the Langeheineken's in Germany. Mary had diabetes. After her blood sugar went very high, she died at the Atchison Hospital in a coma.
