NOTE: Casper Clutter, was confirmed in the German village of Birkenau at the age of 14. In 1709 he came with his father Johan Paulus Klotter, with other Palatine immigrants, down the Rhine to Rotterdam and across to London, where they are enumerated in the camps. They came on to New York colony, but apparently the father must have died along the way, for the subsistence lists by the Govenor of NY show the widow Susanna and children. In 1710 she (Casper's mother) remarried to Johan Poeler(Bohler) and they probably moved to upstate NY. Casper however was old enough to be on his own, listed in the tax lists as a single man. In 1715 he served in the NJ Militia. He then Married Jannetje (Jane) --and they had two children baptized at the Dutch Church in Readington Township, Hunterdon Co., NJ, Paulus and Magdalena in 1724. They apparently lived in central NJ in 1739-1742 when he had an account at Jacob Janeways store in Bound Brook, with a son old enough to to buy on his fathers account. By July 1748 the family had moved to Plumstead Twp, Bucks Co, PA where Casper died at aged about 55 years. He made his will 25 July 1748 and names wife Jane, adult son Paul, son Simeon, minor sons, William, Jacob, and John, and daughters Leanah, Cateren, and Elizabeth ( at least Elizabeth was under 18).
