Notes:
Perce left during the first World War and was in charge of training horses. He was kicked in the abdomen by a horse and had his spleen removed. He was a quinea pig as none of the other five spleen removal cases had lived for any length of time. He required blood transfusions every 6 weeks to 3 months to maintain life. If it was the right blood match all would be well; if not, he would die. One doctor said that Aunt Lou dived on a powder keg for twenty years. He worked with the Railroad company and was known as a gentle, kind person. Not a 'mean bone' in his body. He died at Toronto General Hospital at 45 years old. His wife, Lou, finished her days at 81 years in a nursing home in Rexdale still very much in love with her Percy. Father: Thomas WEST died 16 DEC 1929 Mother: Margaret SHEARER died 4 NOV 1928
