Thomas Hammond was a "wire worker" and was married twice, the second time to
the sister of his first wife who died.
His second wife, Carrie Carr, bore him two sons, Thomas Hammond and Robert
Hammond.  Carrie Carr Hammond, had been previously married and there were three
children of that marriage:  James Bayliss, Harry Bayliss and Carrie Bayliss.

1851 Census of St. Giles Camberwell, Christ's Church  City of Lambeth in
village of Packham shows he was visitor of Charles Lewis who was 26 yrs and his
family, Eliza, Mary E  1 mo..daughter, and a niece of the Lewis family, Eliza M.
Branch, 9 yrs. old          this is the same address where Elizabeth Hammond
McMillan was born in 1853
