Hi Scott,

Have to admit I was a little disappointed that I hadn't found a relative
that knew the Barnes family, but now excited that I have some info to
share with you. Makes all this searching worth it

Grandpa Barnes(JamesW.) was my mother's stepfather. He fell off the back
of a pickup truck, head first, the day I was born, so all I remember was
him in a nursing home until he died. I was looking at your info on his
siblings. I was really surprised at the number, because I only remembered
mother talking about 3 brothers. Anyways, my brother is 12 years older
than I, so I asked him and he came up with two different names of
brothers, so he said he would look in some info he has and get back with
me.

Etta Frances Durnell, b Aug.7,1892, Sopris, Colorado, Las Animas County.
d Jan.24,1954, Gallup, NM.  Etta and James had no children.

James W. Barnes was a bricklayer, born in Brunswick, Missouri. He was
also in the Army from 1917- 1919. He died in Albuquerque, NM. buried in
Gallup, NM
He married again after Etta, but no children.

I am new at this so I don't know what the difference between a gedcom and
a text file are. Whatever is the easiest for you to send I would be
interested in seeing.
