IMMIGRATION: Meyer (Mayer) family fled Palatinate to Holland due to religious
persecution and to America Abt 1700 with entire family; In 1710 settled at
Livingston Manor NY in Schoharie Valley near the Hudson River. In Abt 1711
migrated to PA, possibly down Schuylkill River to Perkiomen Creek,where a
Christian Miers owned land next to Bishop Henry Funk. Finally settled at
Indian Creek, Franconia Twp, Philadelphia Co (now Montgomery Co), PA.
In 1731 Christian Meyer was granted patent by John Thomas & Richard Penn
(sons of William Penn)
