                   Early 1801: Family moved to Rolling Forks area of Washington Co.,Kentucky.
Fall   1801: They moved to Belleville, Illinois - St.Clair Co.
1840-1841: James & Levina moved to Iowa, settled near Montrose & Keouk.
1852: Moved south and over into Missouri and joined a wagon train to CA.
James was chosen Captain of the wagon train and left for California on his
55 birthday (4-5-1853).  They crossed the Missouri River at St.Joseph. The
wagon train followed the Kit Carson Trail through KS and WY territory,across
the South Platte through UT and NV, past Independence Rock and Chimney
Rock to Humboldt Sink on across the Rocky Mountains to Ione, CA.
