History of the Leonard Kimmel Family and Descendants Compiled by Albert Kimmel in 1979 , a copy of which was donated to the Puskarich Public Library, Cadiz, Harrison County, Ohio, presents some problems stating Leonard 1733-1825 was born in Stuttgart, Wurttemberg, Germay, but provides neither an identification of sources nor an explanation as to why the Historical Collections cited above, and other genealogies, say 1741. This record also indicates Leonard had 7 brothers who came to America in 1758. The names are not given but settled as follows: 3 in Pennsylvania, 1 in Massachussets, 1 in Maryland, 1 in Virginia, and 1 in North Carolina. will dated9 Apr 1823
Sources give birthplace as The Glades in Somerset County, PA. In 1748, Somerset County had not yet been formed. The area was part of Bedford County, PA. In the will, his wife's name is spelled Christena.
