John Casper FLICK

                   Article entittled Capt. Gerlach Paul Flick pg 261-262
Flicksville, PA named after him.  He was a member of the Pennsylvania Legislature in 1840-41 and he held other responsible offices and served in the War of 1812 until peace was declared.

First postmaster in Verona also received a land grant on May 22, 1845.  flick built a house on this farm on Verona Ave., just west of Main Street, near the former Sharpe House.  flick's barn stood near the present Don Stewart residence at 108 West Park Lane.  The barn later burned down.  A rail fence enclosing the flick farmyard and the Flick stagecoach and its horses were recalled by Verona residents in earlier years.
The earliest town meeting minutes in the records are for the meeting of april 7, 1857 held at the home of Town Clerk Joseph Flick who was also an innkeeper and the Verona Postmaster.
