OBITUARY
Through the graciousness of the Lord, Martin has fulfilled his mission here on earth. And for his love for the Savior and through dilligence and love for his gospel, he had the privilege and opportunity to fulfill the commitment of his 90 years of mortal life and has returned to his Creator, 26 May 2000 to continue his service through the eternities. Born June 3, 1909 in Salt Lake City, to Willem and Sophia Martin Bernards. Married Ada Hepworth, August 19, 1930 in Salt Lake City. Marriage later solemnized September 7, 1931 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She passed away on December 27, 1993. Martin worked well with his associates on the railroad at the Arms Plant during World War II and at the Deseret News Press from where he retired. Survived by his four daughters, Ada Marilyn(Eugene S. Urry, Sr.deceased); Ginger(Wayne L. Heugly)Henderson, NV; Rebecca Katherine(Gerald C. Evans); Nancy Leigh(Lary E. Fallows)Pocatello,ID; two brothers, William(Bill)(June Bartchi) Bernards,Kanab,Ut.; David(Helen Schiano)Bernards, Alameda, CA ; 21 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Ben (Cora Van Quill); and a sister, Rose(Owen) Probst. Services will be 11 a.m. Wed. May 31, 2000 in the Garden Heights South Ward, 2220 E. Fisher Lane(2935 So.). Friends may call Tues. May 30, 2000 from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State, Murray and Wed. one hour prior to services at the Church. Interment, Valley View Memorial Cemetery, 4400 West 4100 South.
