Samuel WYMORE
As a lad his family moved from Indiana to Mahaska Iowa in 1844 and 1855 to Kansas. He was old enough to get out on his own so he moved to Missouri farming and met his wife. He returned and worked for his fatherin Kansas and then built a cabin while living in their wagon while Isabell put in a garden. They took their livestock, a team of oxen, team of Texas steers, a pr of steers, all hitched ahead of the wagon, back to Missouri to winter and returned in the Spring to find the house and belongings burned down. These loses made their circumstances very complicated. They were not disheartened, inspired by a faithful wife he gave battle to adversity and became victor over all. Isabell had to endure much lonliness with no women within miles for 7 mos. but in 1861 sold farm and went to Kansas to help father as his bros were in the Army. Bought land on W branch of the Pawnee 270 acres now Blue Springs,and improved and sold it and moved back to Missouri then Wymore, Gage, Neb. He bought 438 acres sold 38 in trade for 900 and improved until 1880. The town of Wymore was built on his land and included the railroad depot and Touzalin hotel. He sold town lots, owned the bank and became prosperous. Had 7 children by 1888-3 living, is a Mason Lodge member. Gage Co History by Chapman Brothers of Chicage pgs 191-192
twin 5 yrs of age moved to Mahaska Iowa, returned to Ill., back to Iowa, where her father died when she was 7, until 1855, then with mother and bros moved to Missouri. She met her husband there.
Gage Nebraska 1888 Founder of Wymore Neb. The townspeople honored him by naming it for him. He had a prosperous home overlooking the town. He was a farmer, hotel co-owner and also owned 100 city lots. Promoter of Railroad
He married Isabella Louise Scott 8 Aug 1857 at Daviess, Missouri . Isabella Louise Scott was born at DeWitt, Illinois 14 Oct 1837 daughter of William Liddell Scott and Nancy Keith Scott .
