However,  John did not remain in New England, but returned toEngland with his father where he had left his family.   Later, in 1649John with his wife Beatrix Josselyn, his infant son and his cousin Ralphwith his wife Jane and two children Ralph and James, returned to NewEngland.

                     I do have a passenger list of the Abigal, 1635 but donot find Ralph's name listed.   I don't have authentication of this info.but feel reasonably certain that it is correct.   If you come up withanything new, I would appreciate hearing from you.   Thanks, KEN

In looking at sources on the internet I have not found a passenger listfor the Abigail which lists any Houghton/Hoghton family members.  Howeverthe Winthrop Society (winthropsociety.org) lists a "Jo: Houghton" aged 4on the Abigail voyage of 1635.  Presumably "Jo:" (Joseph or John) did notcome across by himself at that young age.  So there is some evidence ofthe Houghton family on the Abigail.
