George WICKHAM

                   Information on family page from: Ruth & Archie Wickham and from Linda Carrion ) 02/2000.  According to Ruth the August 1850 census shows their family living in Marion Twp, Hancock County, Ohio.  Ruth further states that a Lydia Wickham is buried at Amboy Cemetery near Metamora, who she thinks is Lydia Cox, especially since 2 of her sons, John C. and Albert R. are also buried there.
Ruth also says:
"According to Lydia Cox Wickham's sister, Elizabeth Ceberly stated that Lydia was married and living in Michigan in 1886.  She also states that early histories say that Lydia was born in 1817.  A family bible says she was born in 1818. Elizabeth, her sister says she was born in 1817.  Lydia was the first white child born in Hancock Co. at Fort Findlay where her family moved after the war of 1812.  It was called Champaign County at the time."
Ruth says:
"Lydia's tombstone states; died June 01, 1892 at age 73 yr 10 months 8 days.  Next to her grave is her son, Albert R. Wickham, Company H, 21st OVI, 1844-1923., and Mary M. (Stocking) Wickham, wife of Albert R. Wickham.  This cemetery was originally called the LaBounty Cemetery."
