                   He lived awhile in Berlin, Somerset Co, Pennsylvania where records are
found in German Reformed Church for Elisabetha Gertrude b. 9-8-1777,
baptised 10-9-1777; Anna Maria b. 10-10-1780 parents Johann Valentine
Hay & Elisabetha Margaretha Poth. Valentine and family then migrated
to Kentucky. Records are found in Henderson and Nelson Co, Kentucky;
1800 tax list, 1810 census and son Walter in 1820 census.
Valentine's daughter Margaret married in 1785 in Nelson Co, Kentucky to
Jacob Coffman. His other children who were born prior to the above named
2 were born in Scharrau, Palatinate. This indicates Valentin did not emigrate
in 1767 with brothers Frantz and Simon (of Somerset Co) as stated in
David Hay's book but after son Valentin who was born in 1775 in Scharrau
and before daughter Elisabetha Gertrude was born in 1777 in Pennsylvania.
According to Strassburger's list of arrivals he arrived at the port of
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1775 on the ship King of Prussia.
