He is buried in the Mason family plot at the Fairfield cemetery 1 1/4
miles south of Gila, IL. The data on the tombstone states he was 69 yrs.,
5 mos., 10 days old. This would make his birth date 23 AUG 1813 instead of
SEP 1813 as given by Gerald Hay.
She died at the home of her son Filmore Hay in Anderson County, Kansas.
Data on the Chilcott ancestry was compiled by Fred Chilcott of San Diego,
California, it has not been published. Birth and death confirmed by tomb-
stone inscription and death notice in Kincaid News of July 26, 1895.
Kincaid cemetery is located at northeast corner of Kincaid, Kansas.
It is assumed that she died at the birth of her last child in 1876. The
spelling of her name on the tombstone is "Catharine". Birth and death dates
confirmed by tombstone inscription.
Data confirmed by obituary found in Kincaid Dispatch, Thursday, May 12,
1921 and data on tombstone. Newspaper on microfilm at Kansas Historical
Society, Topeka, Kansas.
In 1900 Nancy Jane Hay Bruster, her husband Thomas, son Ellsberry Bruster
and his wife Lula May Pinno Bruster, daughter Lily Bruster Winkler and
her husband Harry Winkler, daughter Annie (a teenager) moved from Anderson
County, Kansas to Marshalltown, Iowa where they lived the remainder of their
lives.
Ana Liza never married. In 1880 Illinois census she was listed as living
in the household of John Mason, her brother-in-law. After her sister
died in 1876 she continued to live with the family and cared for the
children. She lived with the family until her death and is buried in
the John Mason plot. Birth and death dates confirmed by tombstone inscription.
He died at the home of his oldest son, Dr. Gilbert Wilson Hay in Parsons,
Kansas. Data furnished by Mrs. Gerald C. Hay, Sr. and from an obituary
furnished by John K. Hay. Death date is 28 Apr from Mrs. G. C. Hay info.
He married a widow late in life and had no children. Birth and death years
confirmed by tombstone inscription.
He married Mary Ann Chilcott 14 Jan 1838 at Woodberry Twp, Bedford, Pennsylvania . Mary Ann Chilcott was born at Huntingdon, Pennsylvania 18 Aug 1818 .
