Thomas Jefferson BRUSTER
Data furnished by Barbara Brooks, great grand daughter. The certified copy of the marriage certificate from Coles County, Illinois spells the name "Breuster". He and Nancy Jane Hay were married by J.W.Vaughan, a minister of the gospel. The spelling of the name is taken from the Bruster family records. Thomas was a farmer in his early married years, sometime after the family moved to Marshalltown, Iowa he became day janitor for the Dunham Company. Thomas died of a stroke.
In 1900 Nancy Jane Hay Bruster, her husband Thomas, son Ellsberry Bruster and his wife Lula May Pinno Bruster, daughter Lily Bruster Winkler and her husband Harry Winkler, daughter Annie (a teenager) moved from Anderson County, Kansas to Marshalltown, Iowa where they lived the remainder of their lives.

Data furnished by Barbara Brooks. She stated "We know they had a child died buried in Kansas". Lily spent her first 11 years in Coles County, Illinois. Her parents then moved to Garnett, Kansas where she lived until her marriage in 1895. She and her husband lived on a farm 12 miles S.E. of Garnett until 1900 when they moved to Marshalltown, Iowa.
