Daniel KolbCassel in his History of the Cassel family used both versions. he also saidit was in Badan butI understand that was a mistake although I don't know what state it is now.However you won'tfind it on the map now because it has been combined with the town ofMonsheim and bears that name.We visited there a number of years ago and there are no records leftregarding the Cassel family.I have never been able to find out any more about the origins of thefamily.
