Mrs. Barbara Taylor Johnson Kipe, 38, died Tuesday, June 30, 1:40 p.m. in
St. Alban's Naval Hospital, Long Island, N.Y., following an illness of
six weeks. Born September 10, 1931, she was a native of Morgan County
and the daughter of J. William and Kathryn McCrea Johnson, formerly of
Berkeley Springs, now of Palm Beach, Fla. Mrs. Kipe received her early
schooling in Berkeley Springs, attended Greenbrier Preparatory School in
Lewisbury and completed two years of study at West Virginia University.
In addition to her parents she is survived by her husband, Commander-ret.
Richard E. Kipe, Douglaston, Long Island, N.Y.; one daughter, Kathryn
McCrea King, of Winston-Salem N.C.; one sister, Mrs. John Hawkins,
Manhassett, Long Island, N.Y.; and paternal grandmother, Mrs. Ernest L.
Johnson, Berkeley Springs. Services will be conducted Friday, 2:00 p.m.,
from the Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. E. Spencer Gilley officiating. The
family requests that memorials be directed to St. Marks Altar Guild
Memorial Fund, Miss Etta Enroughty, treasurer, Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
