Dave,
          Yes, I am trying to (a)verify the children of David Whipkey, Sr.and
his wife, Susanna Dull.  A descendant has sent me names of seven children
and I wanted to check them out for accuracy.
          Also, (b)I am looking for David and Susanna's death dates and
burials, i.e. tombstones records that may show birth and death years. The
last record I have for them is the 1850 census in Marshall Co., VA., nowWV.
David was 77 yrs. old and Susanna was age 75.  They were not in the 1860
census in Marshall Co.
          I have surveyed all the printed cemetery records for Marshall Co.
and Aleppo Twp. of Greene Co., PA where lots of Whipkeys are buried, butdid
not find David and Susanna.  Their children, according to one descendant,
are John, David, Jr. m. Rebecca Cramer, Peter, Elias, Enos, Elizabeth, and
Henry m. Mary Catherine Grindle.
          Another descendant told me their children were John, David,Rebecca,
Abraham, Henry, Elizabeth, and Jacob.  The only constant is that both
descendants give David and Susanna seven children.
          The 1850 census, mentioned above, showed Rebecca (Cramer) Dull
living with David and Susanna, as well as her children.  Apparently, David
Whipkey Jr. had died.  It was told to me that Rebecca remarried to Philip
Messinger on
11 Feb. 1854.  That could correspond to the deaths of David and Susanna,or
they moved with Rebecca to her new home.  It's very likely, however, that
they both died by 1860, given their advanced ages.
          David and Rebecca (Cramer) Whipkey's children include Rachel
Catherine m. Levi Grindle in 1852; David Martin; James Edward; HenryMoyers;
Mary Malissa m. James Ferguson by 1850; and Barney, a child who drownedby 1850.
          I am a descendant of Susanna's parents, John Dull and Elizabeth
Putman, who lived and died in Somerset Co., PA.  David and Susanna livedin
Milford Twp. and then Turkeyfoot Twp. of Somerset Co. before moving to
Marshall Co., VA. sometime between 1840 and 1850.
          Is Marcia Whipkey one of the persons I wrote to in Cameron, WV?  I
sent out 12 letters and received two responses.
