RESEARCH NOTE: William Dibb, a farmer, and wife Mary are shown to have had children in Snowden, Weston, Yorkshire between 1811 and 1829, Mary then died in 1831. Marriage record to Mary states that William is of Weston, and Mary is of Fewston. There was only one William Dibb of this age in Weston. - William Dibb, farmer of Snowden, is again shown having children with wife Ann beginning in 1834, though the marriage was not recorded in Weston Parish Records. Parish records continue until 1847, after which we have no records at the FHL. The last entry in the parish record is a burial record for Ann Dibb of Newall in Oxley, age 16(?), no parents or husband given, no relation known. Weston Bishop's Transcripts contain William's own birth info, Children's birth information, Mary's death. William's first son John was buried on the same day that his second child named John was christened, verified in the parish records. - William Dibb is enumerated on the 1841 Census in Snowden, Weston, Yorkshire, England with what is assumedly his second wife Ann, and children from his marriages to Mary and Ann. If this is really his wife, her birthdate is estimated too low. William's birthdate is estimated too, and supports the theory that Ann's birthdate is also an estimate. - Shoebox Genealogy, 2008
NOTE FROM FAMILY RECORDS: William DIBB is shown as the father of James DIBB and father-in-law of Elizabeth HARTLEY in the Entry of Marriage of James and Elizabeth. A copy of the Entry of Marriage is in the possession of Bruce Dibb of Bountiful, Utah.
