                   1. Soon after his marriage to Susanna (2nd wife) he moved to Richmond,
NH, buying on the 21 SEP 1786  80 acres of land.  He sold this farm,
receivung payment in the currently circulating currency which was
repudiated by the Legislature before he could re-invest it.  The Society
of Friends, of which he was a member, presented him with a sum of
money to make up a part of his loss.  He then moved to North Adams, MA,
establishing a weaving and retail cloth business.  He moved in 1800 to
Hancock, MA .
