Richard Cheesman was a cooper, miller and yeoman by trade, as well as a plantation owner. In 1728 became a justice of the peace. Served in Col. Thomas Farmer's New York Militia. Purchased a 484 acre plantation known as "Christianity" from William Thorne, Gloucester Co. On 26 Sep 1726, Richard purchased 93 acres in Gloucester Twp., and settled there.
NOTE: Naomi is married but no spouse name. They were sealed on 3 Nov. 1972 SLAKE.
NOTE: William is married but no name he was sealed on 2 Feb. 1994 MESA
NOTE: Isabelle is married but I don't have a name for the Spouse. They were sealed 21 June 1928
He married Hannah Stringham 1 Jan 1695 at Long Island, New York . Hannah Stringham was born at Jamaica, New York 3 Apr 1676 daughter of Peter Stringham and Anne Owen .
