Rolan was sealed to his mother (Helen Mills), but not to his father who had remarried a woman named Louise Emmeline Harris (born 30 Jan 1906 in Westham, Plstw., London, England and married William Aquilla Cannon on 19 August 1939 in Reno, Washoe, NV). William Cannon had, independently of Helen Mills, joined the church, and requested of Helen that since he had not had any children by his second marriage, that he be allowed to have Rolan sealed to him. Helen gave her permission, but
the church denied this, saying that the son was to go with his mother.
