Henry Michael, John Hufford and wife Amey and Abraham Michael, the three heirs
were advanced by the deceased in his lifetime.
Ezra Michael Note: George Michael came from Augusta Co. VA in 1834 and
settled on land southwest of Michigantown Indiana in Clinton Co. on Wild Cat
creek or Kilmore creek. On this creek he built a grist mill, constructing a
dam across the creek and levee across the valley. The levee is easily traveled
today aand much of the timbers of the dam are still in place well-preserved.
Timber are oak aand black walnut. Two huge willow trees, one on either side of
the creek and on the levee are still standing. No trace of the mill building
is left. Some of the stone burrs (?) were still there until the last few
years. The home-site is on a knoll sloping toward the south. The old house
burned, the second burned and the third one is now standing. No trace of the
barn or other building remains except one large boulder which was the corner
work of the barn. Just across the road south and about 1/8 mile west was a
schoolhouse later replaced by a brick one which has been torn down in the
last year.
The cemetery in which maany of the early Michaels were buried is about one
mile east on a round knoll on the south bank of the creek. Here are the
following graves. Cemetrery is called Brandon Cemetery. ( see cemetery disk
for rest of infor._
