An abstract of Joseph N. Barkdoll's obituary says: J.N. Barkdoll, afarmer on Williamsport Pike near Half-Way, died 2 p.m. Tuesday at JohnsHopkins Hospital of stomach trouble, 33 years old. He was taken toBaltimore by Dr. Miller. He died as he was lifted to the operatingtable. He leaves a wife, daughter of David Nigh, and 6 kids, the oldest11 years old. The remains were returned to Leitersburg by his brotherWilliam. Joseph Barkdoll was a member of the Farmer's Alliance.
