I have a copy of the will of George Valentine Mong, who died about 3:00o'clock on 11 Mar 1895. His residence place was Washington Twn.,Franklin, Pennsylvania, at the time of his death. His wife, Maria Mongand son William H. Mong, were the executors of the estate. Named in the will were his wife, Maria, and children John Calvin, SusanCatharine, George V., Jacob S., William H., and Silas W. and his niece,Anna M. Roof. NOTE: Birth may be 31 March 1823
Some interesting information about John Calvin Mong sent to me by hisdescendent and my cousin Don Moody from Columbus, Ohio in March, 2001: As a boy John Calvin saw much Civil War activitiy in his area andremembers watching the battle of Antietam from a safe distance from hishome. As a younger man he worked in the newly developing oil fields innorthwest Pennsylvania as a derrick operator. His main career was withthe Russell Company of Massilon, Ohio where he retired as a foremanaround 1917. Russell Company built agricultural machinery and at one timewas Massilon's big industry. For a time he had a farm near Logan, Ohio.His child was born in that area in 1890.
He married Nancy Feigley . Nancy Feigley was born at near Hagerstown, Washington, Maryland, Usa 21 Aug 1830 .
