One smaller group includes four brothers whose line has not been identified but seems to have connections to Indiana yet were apparently recognized a relatives by the largae group of Chaneys in Carroll Co.. the four brothers are Robert (had a son Robt E.)Hosea Chaney/ Hezekiah "Kye" Chaney and Ninevah "BUd" Chaney

Family History of Chaney's..Sometime in the latter part of l600 or early part of l700 that there lived in the city of Dublin,Ireland who had two sons but no daughters. These young men had heard of the wonderful America and being intelligent ambitious boys decided they would come to America. Their parents were wealthy but as they were the only children they were sure their parents would not consent to part with them and they concluded the best way for them was to leave home secretly, so packed a large chest with just such articles as they could, but their mother happened to over hear some of their talk and when they were absent from home one day, she and their father unpacked their chest and in the bottom put in many comfortable and useful articles such as warm clothing, blankets, and household utensils and closed it up which was a great surprise to them when they arrived at their destination. They had visited the captain and made arrangements with him to take them and then to sell them out..they slipped their chest secretly after night as they thought and went on board. and after ten or t welve weeks voyage in an old sailing vessel they landed at Jamestown Va. They went to the captain and told him they were ready to be sold but to their surprise he informed them that their father had privately paid their passage and also handed each a bag of money enough to start in business. Their name was Chaney and one of my grandmothers was a daughter of one of these men. I saw in a newspaper once that a member of the Va legislature was a Chaney. Possibly a descendant of the same family . I do not know their given names. (This is from Family History ofAngelilna Harvey p. l3-l4)
