Thomas DRINKWATER
Thomas Drinkwater lived in Taunton, Mass. (perhaps buried there). According to John S. Fernald, "Drinkwater Family", pub 1904, He had six sons and two daughters. This comes from the list of sons and daughters recorded as receiving "deeded" land given them by their surviving mother, Elisabeth Haskell. They received this presumably as they reached 21 years of age and the report shows where each child was living at the time of receiving their inheritance. 1.Walter of Freetown, Aug. 1, 1721 2. Source: of the Joseph Drinkwater (10 Nov 1709) family data is as follows: 1. Drinkwater Family by John S. Fernald, pub by G.E. Bowers, 1904; 2. North Yarmouth Records; 3. Mitchell's History of Bridgewater Mass; 4. Drinkwater Family Bible, owned by Summer Pierce Drinkwater of Northport, Me. A historical note on where and how this information came into my hands is as follows: In Oct of 1988 I (Glenn H. Thomas) found that a Mr. Larkin was working on the Drinkwater line, so I wrote him asking for some exchange informtion. I had sent him all my nicely computer printed pedigree charts and so impressed he was that he sent me all the work his grandmother (now deceased) had spent 20 years gathering on the Fessenden line (which included a lot of Drinkwaters). This to prove she was a direct descendant from the Mayflower group. Richard Larkin His grandmother: 6500 Rock Springs Dr. #600 Cordelia Fessenden Larkin Bethesda, MD 20817 Misc note: Family History Dept., sent me on 15 June 1991 a confirmation of Ordinance completion dates (used here) but I had already sent to them info from the IGI of Bapt and Endow ordinances that were done sometime in 1927. Why did they ignore the 1927 dates I found in IGI? The dates they confirm are those done at my (Glenn H. Thomas) instance in 1990.
