Notes:
Wesley was a major officer in the Virginia Militia, which drilled on a muster ground on the farm owned by William B. Morgan, son of Morgan, Morgan. Wesley was a partner with his brothers in the mill and tobacco business. Wesley was a minor when his father died. In Feb 1828, Wesley (listed as orphan), went to court and made the choice of Elizabeth Morgan (his mother) as his guardian, whereupon she gave bond and security according to law. After his mother died in 1840, he purchased the dower consisting of 285 acres of land, including his parent's home and the mill. Three years later, for $3000 he sold to his brothers, Jesse, Christopher, Thomas, and John an equal part of this land so each had 1/5 part.
