NOTE: The Agnews moved to Kanawha Co., Virginia (now West Virginia) where Martha's uncle, John McConihay, lived. Thomas engaged in the salt business in Kanawha County until his death. When he died, he lieft his widow and three small children. Martha and the children moved back to Bedford. One of the charges against the Agnew estate was moving the family back to Bedford County.
NOTE: He was living in 1860 with his uncle George Drewry. On 1 Mar 1862, he enlisted for the duration of the War in Co. D 58th VA Infantry.
NOTE: William was of fair complexion, light hair, grey eyes, height 5' 10". He enlisted at age 18 on 27 Feb 1862 in Company D 58th VA Infantry, was wounded at Williamsburg 8 May 1862, captured at City Point, Virginia in Apr 1865, took oath of allegience 13 Jun 1865 at Point Lookout and released.
NOTE: John enrolled 26 Jul 1861 at Bunker Hill, Virginia and was mustered in Co. A 58 Virginia Infantry. He was living with his mother in 1870 being under age he was subject to discharge.
He married Martha McConihay 3 Nov 1841 at Bedford, Virginia . Martha McConihay was born at Body Camp, Bedford, Virginia 22 Sep 1818 daughter of Samuel McConihay and Hannah Harris .
