William SAUNDERS
NOTE: William was in the reserves during the Civil War. His estate consisted of 332 acres of land on Craddock Creek, 188 acres on Moody's Mill Creek, and 305 acres on Staunton River, Bedford, VA. When When William's estate was settled, William D. Franklin purchased 256 acres on Craddock Creek and James H. Saunders 378 acres of the remainder.
NOTE: Daniel enlisted in the Civil War in 1861 and was a private in Captain Claytor's Company B 10th Virginia Battalian, Heavy Artillery.
NOTE: James H. was a private in Board's Company 58th Virginia Infantry.
NOTE: William and Pike (as she was called) moved to Bedford from Franklin Co.,VA in 1900 where he was in the warehouse and feed business. At the time of his 1918 death, his three sons were serving in World War I.
He married Florence Kasey 30 Oct 1835 at Bedford, Virginia . Florence Kasey was born at Bedford, Virginia 12 Jun 1819 .
