                   NOTE:  Thomas emigrated to Virginia and settled in Pittsylvania Co., VA.  He may have been the Thomas Davis who marched against Lord Dunmore in 1776.  He was a member of the Pittsylvania Co.,VA Company whodid make that march.  He owned land in Stinking Creek and was granted leave by the Pittsylvania Court in 1777 to build a miill on the creek.  Thomas Davis' brother,John, was the great great grandfather of Jefferson Davis.  John came from Shropshire on the border of Wales.
