NOTES: Mary Mokes or Moakes or Monks - Her name spelt by others in these different ways. When she married the Mormon, IGI have her down as Monks. On reserching her birth we note her name to be Mary Mokes daughter of Robert Mokes baptized July 30 1758 in Alrewas. Robert Mokes married to Anne Haraden on June 1, 1743. Robert his baptism in South Normanton, Derbyshire on December 15, 1717. The son of a Robert Moax who was baptized Sept 27, 1687. . . .
