Callie's original death certificate was in error. I, Vada, have written correcting her father's name (James Arthur, not Charles) and giving mother's full name. Callie had Alzheimer's and her affairs were being administered by her husband's son. I talked with her by telephone for a few years, and we had good conversations until she could not longer recognize me. Interestingly, her home teacher while she was hospitalized was a doctor who was married to the daughter of my good friend, Ann Woods. He was a resident there. I don't think Callie was able to talk with him because her Alzheimers was so advanced by the time he was there. The nursing staff told me they enjoyed having her as a patient because she was always cheerful and pleasant to be around. They thought she was born in the south because she acted like a "southern belle." In fact, their nickname for her was "Belle." I have found memories of her as a big sister. She would play the piano while I would dance around the room. One piece she played a lot was "Over the Waves."
