Obituary of Rulon Garn Ford Rulon Garn FORD, a life long resident of Centerville, Utah, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather died at his home at the age of 97, on Friday, November 28, 1997. He was born September 16, 1900 in Centerville, Utah, to Emma Garn and Joseph Ford. He was the youngest of 16 children. All of his brothers and sisters preceded him in death. He was raised on the Ford Farm in Centerville, Utah, and educated in the public schools of Davis County and at Utah State University in Logan, Utah. Rulon was a member of the LDS Church and was active in it his entire life, serving in many positions. He was a High Priest in the Lakeview Ward, Centerville North Stake. Rulon married Arvilla Roberts in the Logan Temple July 16, 1925. They established their home in Centerville on the Ford Farm where Rulon successfully developed orchards, a dairy herd, a poultry and truck gardening operation with his skills as a farmer. He served on the Board of Directors of Utah Farmer Coop. He was president of Ford Properties, Inc., who developed Sunset View Estates, Centerville. In 1992, he was honored by Rotary Int'l as citizen of the year. Rulon had nine children; two of whom preceded him in daeth, Walton D. Ford and Kathleen F. Bloomfield. He is survived by his wife, Arvilla and by seven children and their spouses: Dr. Clynn R. Ford (Katherine), Dr. R. Newell Ford (Kathleen), Elaine F. Kapple (Charles D.), Duane R. Ford (Lora), Emma F. Glover (Dr. David B.), Dr. J. Garn Ford (Catherine), Mark R. Ford (Marsha). He has 45 grandchildren and 106 great-grandchildren. He knew and loved them all. Funeral services will be Monday, Dec. 1, 1997 at 11 a.m. at Centerville North Stake Center at 1450 North Main. Friends may call Sunday, November 30, 1997 from 6-8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 No. Main and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday at the stake center. Interment: Centerville City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Primary Children's Medical Center are suggested.
