    In 1905, Thomas and Catherine were living at 41 Clarence Place in San Francisco. They were in San Francisco at the time of the big fire. George was in the care of the Coggins family at the time of the fire, reason not known. Perhaps the parents died in the fire. He was "adopted" (not legally) by the Coggins family when he was eleven years old. (This information from the personal knowledge of an older Coggins daughter.)
