                   NOTE:
    1. Robert Kurtz Staten at the age of 21 joined the Confederate Army at Jonesborough, 3 May 1862.  He was assigned to Fain's 74th and sent to Tennessee Regiment.  Robert was a private in Co. D, and his Bro. William Joined Co. K of the 60th Tennessee.
    2. On 23 Aug 1862, Robert came back home and married Isabella Tennessee Gilley. He returned to the War.  The rest of his story is in My Geneology History Research Book. This information came from a Periodical.  The story was submitted by James Howard Morelock, 7610 Maple Branch Road, Clifton, Va. 22024
    3. Robert's Grandfather John Kortz earliest record in Tn was 1807.
