OCCUPATION: Innkeeper
CHRISTENING: the Hassle-Bosarp PR begin in 1771. No child named Anders/Andreas was born there between 1771-73. MARRIAGE: Hassle-Bosarp PR, 1771-1816, p. 59, FHL 0145533: "1792 den 28 dito [December] wigdes Ryttaren Andreas Soderwall, och pig: Elna Tufwasdotter i Haslebosarp." BURIAL: at the time of the probate of his father-in-law's estate on 7 January 1809, Andreas Sodervall is listed as a prisoner of the French. He did not die in Hassle-Bosarp, as no burial is found there. There is no probate for him in Vemmenshogs Harad Bouppteckningsregister, FHL 0271185. It is assumed that he died as a prisoner of war, possibly in France, before his wife's second marriage on 25 June 1817. It is equally possible that he was assumed dead if he never returned from the war; his wife would then have been allowed to remarry. CLERICAL SURVEY: Hassle-Bosarp Husforhorslangd, 1822-26, FHL 0145533. The whole record was searched without locating anyone belonging to this family. NOTES: family information states that Andreas Sodervall was born Anders Hansson on 19 February 1774 in Tullstorp, Malmodus, Sweden, son of Hans Persson and Hanna Andersdotter. This is, however, incorrect. Andreas Sodervall married Elna Thuesdotter (Tufvesdatter) on 28 December 1792 in Hassle-Bosarp. The Anders Hansson born on 19 February 1774 in Tullstorp continued to live with his mother and step-father in Tullstorp until 1797, proving that these two men cannot be the same person (see Tullstorp Clerical Survey, 1797, n.p. (Stora Beddinge 36), FHL 0147397: Pehr Nilsson, age 29, wife Hanna, age 52, son Anders, age 20, son Matts, age 12, daughter Mereida, age 11, and servant Boel, age 20). All records thus far located show that Andreas Sodervall was born in 1771 and provide no information about his parentage. PROBATE: Vemmenhog District Probates 1817:24, FHL 0147923. This probate of husar (light cavalryman) Anders Sodervall of Hassle-Bosarp, dated 5 April 1817, mentions that he left home twelve years before and never reurned; a search was made for him without locating him. Therefore his wife asked and was granted permission to remarry. The record lists his wife Ellna Sodervall of Hassle-Bosarp and their following children: Hans, of age and visiting Denmark; Lars Frey, a rote (district) soldier in Norra Aby; Ola, age 19 and a servant in Sodra Wirestad; Anders, age 11 living at home; and daughter Elsa, a servant in Westra Wirestad. The son Lars Frey acted in behalf of his underaged sister and Ellna Soderwall for the other children. The inventory of the estate was valued at 106.35.4 riksdaler with debts of 3.5.4 riksdaller. Ellna Tufvesdotter (Soderwall), Lars Frey, Ola Andersson, and Lars Martensson signed at the end of the probate. Ellna Tufvesdotter
