HISTORY: Andrew Jenson, LATTER-DAY SAINT BIOGRAPHICAL ENCYCLOPEDIA (n.p.:

Epics, 1971), 2:210-11, bapt. 8 Sep 1858 by Elder Jens C. Ostenkjar
[sic], parents rejected the Gospel, rented blacksmith shop and earned enough to
emigrate to Utah, ordained Elder soon after baptism and presided over Taars
Branch, and later over Harritslev Branch, also labored a yr. as local
missionary and baptized 11 persons, came to Utah 1861, crossed Atlantic on
MONARCH OF THE SEA, and the plains in Capt. Samuel Woolley's Independent Co.,
spent yr. and a half in Davis co., then to Milton, Morgan Co., where he
presided over that branch abt. 10 yrs. and also worked as bishop's counselor,
to Richfield, Sevier Co., in 1875 where he lived out his days, had earlier been
ordained a member of 65th Quorum of Seventy, was ordained High Priest Jul 1877,
12 yrs. as counselor to Bishop Poul Poulsen of Richfield 1st Ward, and
president of United Order, Richfield, Nov 1876 to Mar 1881, 1881-83 missionary
in Denmark, presided over Hjorring Branch a yr., baptized 41 persons; presided
another yr. over Aalborg Conference, returned to Utah 1883 at head of 122
emigrants, m. Anna Marie Lee 16 May 1861 and had 8 children by her, m. Anna
Marie ("Mary") Pedersen 8 Sep 1866 and had 9 children with her, and m. Karen J.
A. Jacobsen 13 Dec 1883 and had 8 children by her, served 3 mos. in Utah
penitentiary for unlawful cohabitation, self-imposed exile thereafter as
blacksmith in Pioche, Nevada, and later Delamare, again arrested and fined for
unlawful cohabitation 1898.
