NOTE:  Went to Private school - Staten Island. At age 16, he began work.
Father's Tannery. About 1 yr. later he started for himself - a grist Mill at
Durham - he operated about 1 yr. moved to East Berlin and operated grist Mill.
Operated Blacksmith Shop. Bought land from F.C. Wilcox and has 17 acres he
farms next to his home. They attend Methodist Episcopal Church. They activety
support Republican Principles, but he is not a politician, nor seeking office
in town. Church is in East Berlin, CT - Methodist Episcopal. He is a member of
Mattabessett Lodge, No. 25 K. of P., of East Berlin and also a prominent member
of R.O. Clark uniformed Rank, K. of P., officiating as Captain of latter
orgainization - 1897 - 1898, also held other positions in K. of P. Lodge. A
prosperous Business man and deserves individual credit for his success -
Because: Financial reverses which befell his father in later years - compelled
this son to begin his business career penniless, and to carve out his future
for himselt.
